Penang was such a highlight. And like promised, I will do a full cover of the trip. Hopefully, by reading this, my readers may get the “feel” of what I experienced. This is not my first trip to this famous eatery state (in fact, all my friends who went, had gone there before) but this trip deserves a talk as the food we had was absolutely wonderful. I must say we were very lucky as we had some local friends to take us around the place (^_^)
We were supposed to fly in with AK 5350 which departs as early as 0655 hrs from LCCT KLIA. Yea, I know. Madness! We had to reach the airport by 6am- when I normally wake up for work. All of us had trouble waking up including myself. I barely made it. Guess what? Connie and Sok Yen missed the flight! *pouts feeling sad* :~(

Yes, the sun had not even rised yet. *yawns* We arrived in Penang as early as 0730. On normal days, I haven’t even step in the office yet. For holidays, I would. For work? *coughs!*

A healthy breakfast right after we touched down Penang International Airport- bread! :)

William agrees to it (^_*)

Destination no. 1: Snake temple :) See the snakes?

Me bathing the Buddha.

Yours truly lighting her candle for Wesak Day :)

Destination no. 2: Kek Lok Si Temple :)

A view from top of the temple.

Me trying to be funny. Whoops!

The praying hall.

Some flowers.

And I found my ‘friend’.
Also at Kek Lok Si, I did what I always had want to do. To pay my respect to dear late Vincent. A related post here on this dear friend of mine.

Tortoises trying hard for food.

Destination no. 3: Bukit Bendera

Super many blogwhore pics leh? More to come ;p *LoLs*

And look at THIS!!!! Even Penang has their very own Asia Cafe- very alike our SS15 AC isn’ t it? I had the exact same reaction!
Remember both Connie and Sok Yen? My friends who missed the flight earlier? No, we didn’t forget about them. They found their way and met up with us for lunch :) *smiles widely*

It was a seafood lunch. Everyone was hungry. So am I. But the empty plates would make you envy I am sure! *ngek ngek ngek*

Another alternative into the island :) *jumps to tell* My first time on the ferry! I was laughed at when I questioned my friends, “Huh? Are you sure, Chelsea? You don’t know these ferries carry the vehicles on them?” while raising their eye-brows :(

See Penang island? *Smiles* beautiful.

Destination no. 4: Khoo Kongsi. Are you a Khoo? Please tell me more about this place. I only saw a lot of Khoo names all around. Apparently it is a very famous spot in Penang. *Laughs at myself being a Malaysian*

Then we stopped at Penang Hill for the famous cendol to quench our thirst :)

The next place we stopped at was Bukit Genting where we were going to have dinner. Some hill on top of Penang where food is serve and you could enjoy the sun set as well.

Sok Yen and I cannot resist but to camwhore with the sceneries.
*muahaha* need to say more?

We had the whole day with these people from Prai. The group picture was a MUST take! :) Thank you all! But WAIT!!!!! The night has not ended yet. We took a stroll to Batu Ferringhi and was told that Hard Rock Penang will be opening in August! *wiNKs* You thinking what I am thinking? *LoLs*
Then… supper at Gurney drive (^_^)
THE HIGHLIGHT FOR THE DAY…….
MPPP (Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang- I assume) at work on a Saturday. I am IMPRESSED!!!! Hot, sunny, humid afternoon. He was working diligently, doing his responsibilities. When most of us are probably sitting at home avoiding the sun, this hardworking man is working, and I should say again, on a Saturday!
HIGHLIGHT No. 2

William + food. Breakfast, lunch, cendol for tea, dinner, Gurney Drive’s char kuey teow for supper= not enough. He was still eating when Connie, Sok Yen and myself were all getting ready for bed after a long eventful day. He is caught red-handed here still eating even in the hotel room! ;p *laughs super loud* And I am serious!
Day 2 of Penang will be posted up soon with more good food, fun places and weird highlights to be bragged about :)
