The Other Highlight

A friend getting married. She is the first amongst us to get wedded. She is one of my BFFs in the picture on the panel on top of MUSINGS~ (you see how excited I am?) To add to the joy, I was involved in match making this couple! ;p Now you understand why I kept talking about the wedding earlier? *winks* I was practically counting down since the beginning of the year for their wedding… The best of all is being involved in the whole event. Though the pictures I have is not as much as I could story-tell because most times, I was having fun myself and Ms Canon Ixus was left in the bag! So what I have here is what I managed! :)

Fun started ever since I touched down Kuching but the highlight begins with the bachelor night we celebrated with Alex! Drinks, nonsense……

<THE NIGHT BEFORE>

Managed a few shots….

In case you were wondering, this group of people are those selected few who taught me bad when I was still a naive student…… (believe me!)

IMG_0369-edit

Meet Kenny :) Some one whom I need to introduce to all of you- a story to tell, other words! *coughs*

 IMG_0372-edit

And this devil here who needs little introduction :)

It was an unfortunate that not all of us were able to get together though most of us were there. Hui had her bf commitments, some had family commitments… etc! But the wedding day is another highlight to watch! *winks*

<THE WEDDING DAY>

 IMG_0399-edit

We woke up as early as 5 in the morning to get ready to “zheng gu” the “heng tais“. It was the best part of the wedding day, I would say! Don’t ask me why it is so early, apparently some custom believes on the ‘appropriate’ time for the groom to wed the bride, etc…

 IMG_0402-edit

One of the tricks contributed by your’s truly (^_*) was stuffing toothpaste into the Oreo cookies- substituting the usual cream in it, and made the “heng tais“ eat it! =p *muahahahaha* But on the actual day, I was in charge on the door locks for the wedding door game*.

IMG_0444-edit

A traditional chinese wedding my friends had. Many believes, customs and pantang which I have not heard before but learning it this time did make some sense in me :) One of them was sticking this “hei” stickers on all the wedding percussions. It symbolises prosperity and happiness to the wedding couple. Now, you know! ;p

 IMG_0428-edit

Obviously, this had its own reason too, but I do not know. *whoops!*

 IMG_0427-edit

Alright, this pair of chicken. What I know is about this is that when we were coming from the bride’s place after the groom went through all his hurdles played by us, the “zhi muis, it has to go into their new home before the newly weds walked inside the house.

 IMG_0061-edit

And if you ask me, I think this is the only motivation for me to consider about getting married at this point of time :p *LoLs* You see te MYR 50 notes? Basically, the bride will be bringing all her belongings of herself to her new home with her during this day. Money, accessories, clothes etc…. As to the traditional chinese believes, as long as you are not married, you are still your parent’s child thus even your own money belongs to them because they are the ones who brought you up. So, once you are married, you are entitled to your own belongings :)

 IMG_0425-edit

So, this is a clearer view on the wedding percussions I was talking about.

 IMG_0404-edit

 Presenting to you the wedding couple! How sweeeett!!! ;)

 IMG_0395-edit

 Still got time to camwhore! *LoLs*

 IMG_0065-edit

Like said, this wedding is extra memorable as Mei is the first to get married among the four of us. I am happy for her.

IMG_0099-edit

In case you were wondering which four I was talking about, the other two are Jing and Hui, my partners in crime during uni days- Miss BFFS! ;p Oh yea! Both Mei and Alex are born in the year of rat- explains why the Mickey and Minnie pair is used as their car deco.

IMG_0095-edit

Seen here is Jing and Eric, the next expected couple to get married- also the reason I will be heading back to Kuching next year! :)

 IMG_0447-edit

So, the “zhi muis“. p/s: check out their wedding portrait! I so likey it…

 IMG_0093-edit

And the “heng tais” who swallowed my version of Oreo earlier! *muahahahaha!*

<THE WEDDING DINNER>

 Just a couple of hours later, we had to prepare for the dinner already. I was never so involved in a wedding before. But this particular one, we even had to perform on stage for them, and gave a congratulatory speech. Sighs! Haven’t been practising my Mandarin since I came back so, I was really *embarassed*! The dinner was held at the Bangkok Thai restaurant, food was awesome!!!

 IMG_0464-edit

After the hair wash and blow- can manage to camwhore! :)

 IMG_0467-edit

And more camwhore pictures! Three of us and a camera… need more say? ;p

IMG_0117-edit

Some other random pictures taken. Just look at Marcus!!!! *grr*

 IMG_0470-edit

With Mei, and a kepo Kenny.

 IMG_0475-edit

So, I took a picture with him since he wanted to appear in pictures so much! LoLs!!!!

IMG_0476-edit

This finale is a MUST take. Us and them. Much to tell but do not know how to explain. We are very happy for the both of them and would like to wish them all the good for their wedding!
